ANASTASIA - Lavish Eye Shadow Palette (swatches)

This eye-shadow palette is awesome! It comes with 10 different shades that are mostly warm toned.   I love the staying power of these eye shadows (especially the darker ones).     The palette also comes with  - Dual ended eye shadow brush    (meh) - Twist-up Waterproof eye liner (I love this eyeliner! It's pigmented and last all day. The only problem I have with this is that I see tiny smudges around the lower lash line after a day of wear) - Brow pencil  (hint of brown, but color does not last all day) - Brow tweezers The lighter ones (cream/ballet/orange soda) are very sheer, but the darker colors are very pigmented. Review: Marc Jacob's Perfection Powder Featherweight Foundation

Deng Deng Deng! I placed an order through Sephora.ca about a month ago, as I was very interested in trying Marc Jacob's new makeup line. I pretty much made the order when the line was first launched, so I had no idea which will be hits or misses.  The one product I wanted to try out was the powder foundation - Let's talk about the packaging... Like every other reviewers, Marc Jacob definitely did a great job in designing his products.  He differentiated his products by rounding the 4 edges on the side, while keeping the traditional black sleek case trend.  He also got a little silver push button at the side, which adds a little bit of classiness to the look.  Once the compact is opened, you can see a huge mirror on the lid, and because of this, the weight of the foundation is relatively heavier compared to other compact foundations. Now on to the product - The color I got is 300 Beige (I am normally a shade 30 in Dior/Chanel foundations), which is

Makeup empties/expired II

I know it's crazy...but these are how much makeup I threw out over the weekend...I know the title of this post is a bit misleading. As you can clearly see, most of them are not used up.  They've been there in my stash for way long and some of them are samples that I have never even touched. My goal for the rest of the year is to go on a makeup buying ban. (unless I run out of something I use everyday). :P

Hot Pink Rose Vibrant Overall, I think the color payoff for these lipsticks + lip glosses are very pigmented. But I find that the lip butters are quite drying after 30min or so. I can see my lips start to dry up alot more if I wear these lip butters on a daily basis.  The lip glosses are very opaque and the colors are really pretty, however, it doesn't last long on the li

Mascara Empties (high ends + drug stores)

I went through my makeup stash and cleaned up a lot of old/used up mascaras...Alot of them is not worth mentioning as I do not recommend them at all.  But I will highlight a few that I think it's worth mentioning. 1. Benefit - They're Real : This mascara has so much hype over the internet for a couple of years. I think this is a decent mascara as it gives good length and somewhat good volume. I would say it does a better job at lengthening than volumizing.  It holds curls well and it does not smudge. The best feature of this mascara is that it separates the lashes quite well and does not give a spidery finish to the lashes. 2. Lancome Hypnose Drama: Personally, this is not one of my favorite. One being very pricey, second being nothing special about the finish it offers. A pro of this mascara is that it gives good length, however, if you apply more than 2 coats, it'll make the lashes very spidery and clumpy. 3. Maybelline the Falsies Volume Express: Do not

Product empties (foundation)

From left to write: - Estee Lauder Double Wear Light 2.0 - Vichy Dermablend liquid foundation - Shu Umura Face Architect Illuminating Moisture Fluid foundation - The Balm cream foundation Even though the title says 'empties', some of the foundations listed above are not completely finished. However, I have had them for at least a couple of years so it's time for them to go... To start off, the least favorite from the list is definietely the Balm's Time Balm foundation.  I know a lot of people like this foundation as it can cover any imperfections and it could be used as a concealer. Unless you really need HEAVY coverage, then this foundation is for you. My skin is normal to combination, with occasion hormonal acne. Other wise, my skin is pretty clear. The texture of the Balm's foundation is very thick and its hard to apply. The best way to apply this foundation is with fingers. Because the texture is really thick and dense, the best way is to first wa

Sephora Haul

Haven't had time these days to update my blog due to work and study....Sephora had a VIB 15% sale, so of course, I took advantage of that and got some skin care & hair items that I have been wanting to try for a while. I have already refund the Peter ThomasRoth hair serum for scalp...Not only does it give irritation to my scalp, I also got some pumps on the area where I applied it..So I def don't like this product.. More full review on the products will be out soon! Stay tune.

Dolce & Gabbana The Foundation Perfect Finish Powder Foundation

Dolce & Gabbana The Foundation Perfect Finish Powder Foundation I ordered this powder foundation off from Sephora.com and its retail at $59.00Cad. The shade I have in this is Caramel 110. For reference I am B30 in Chanel Aqua Vitalumiere and 30 in Dior forever foundation.  The packaging of this foundation is just simply amazing and luxurious. Like other high end foundation, this compact comes with a velvet pouch that has it's logo right on top. The compact itself is in a rounded square shape with rose gold casing. The compact overall is quite thick, as there are 2 mirrors inside.  I have used this foundation for at least a week, so my opinion might change after I use it for longer. However, so far, I am liking it a lot.  The coverage of this foundation offers a medium & build-able finish. The powder is not too loose compared to some of the compact foundation, where it gets really messy once you swipe it with a brush. Although there are still some

My Shu-Uemura Art of Hair - Experience Journey

SILK BLOOM RESTORATIVE SHAMPOO FOR DAMAGED HAIR I love the bottle and smell of this baby. It's  got a soft, subtle and feminine scent and it lingers on the hair after the wash. This shampoo is excellent for those with damaged hair, medium to thicker hair. I have noticed a difference to my hair after a few week of usage. For me, my hair has been damaged over the years of hair dyes. As much as I want to 'restore' the thickness of my hair, it has been going thinner as I get older :(.... I miss the days where I have full volume and thick hair... Anyway, back to this product. The shampoo has a rich lotion texture, once you start to massage the shampoo into the scalp, you'll start to feel it starting to make the hair softer. This shampoo does NOT strip the hair at all and it's safe for colored hair. I really recommend this to those with damaged/dry hair as it really does offer rich moisture to the hair while making it look healthy. I also noticed that my hair doesn&

Macaroon Marathon (First Impression)

La Bohème Café Patisserie This is the most expensive macaroons from the ones that I have tried so far. I only tried the salted Caramel, raspberry & white chocolate mocha. The crusts are too loose and it breaks instantly once you try to bite it. I also find these macaroons are too sweet for my liking. The size is relatively big compared to some of the macaroons I see in the market. I also tried their single shot latte. I think its pretty nice, although the expresso is a bit too strong for my liking.  Butter Avenue ~ $2.20ish Pro: - Wide range of selections - Decent taste - Nice and clean atmosphere - Decent price Con: - It's the sweetest out of the 3 - Too far from home/work Overall: - The crust is not too loose nor dense. I personally prefer the crust to be a little bit hard and not just break when you bite it. Their macaroons are creamy/cheesey tasting. It's very easy to get addicted to these little bad boys.  Aside from the sweets, their lat

My 2013 Wishlist (Guilty Pleasure)

Chloe -  MINT GREEN HAND-FINISHED SCALLOPED BALLERINA FLATS I have been eyeing on this ballerina flats for the LONGEST time. This pair of flats are meant to be extremely comfortable for the feet. The lambskin leather is supposed to offer extra soft/buttery sensation to the feet, that are great for walking/standing all day. As obsessed as I am with the flats, I just can't seem to pull myself in buying it. It is is over $455 + tax...   :'( I have seen many versions of this flats from J.Crew, Juicy Couture and no name brands.  Although they are similar in style and cheaper in price, but the quality is still unbeatable compared to the Chloe. Jason Wu - Jourdan Cross Body Bag  Red Valentino Bow Satchel I love this classic Valentino signature bow <3
