My Shu-Uemura Art of Hair - Experience Journey

SILK BLOOM RESTORATIVE SHAMPOO FOR DAMAGED HAIR

I love the bottle and smell of this baby. It's  got a soft, subtle and feminine scent and it lingers on the hair after the wash. This shampoo is excellent for those with damaged hair, medium to thicker hair. I have noticed a difference to my hair after a few week of usage. For me, my hair has been damaged over the years of hair dyes. As much as I want to 'restore' the thickness of my hair, it has been going thinner as I get older :(.... I miss the days where I have full volume and thick hair... Anyway, back to this product. The shampoo has a rich lotion texture, once you start to massage the shampoo into the scalp, you'll start to feel it starting to make the hair softer. This shampoo does NOT strip the hair at all and it's safe for colored hair. I really recommend this to those with damaged/dry hair as it really does offer rich moisture to the hair while making it look healthy. I also noticed that my hair doesn't snap/break off as easily.
The only complaint I have with this is that it might be too much for those with fine hair. I noticed after a month of usage, the root area has become a bit oily the day after shampooing. And this is not a good thing, as I don't want to wash my hair everyday.

SILK BLOOM RESTORATIVE TREATMENT MASQUE

Going with the same line of products, I absolutely LOVE this hair mask.  I honestly think this is the best mask I have tried so far. I applied the mask starting from the middle to the end of my hair and leave it in for at least 15min. (The longer the better, but I'm lazy most of the time). After washing this stuff off, it makes my hair feel silky smooth. It's just that amazing. And the smoothness will stay until the next wash. I can't say enough good thing about this. I had the bottle for at least half a year and I still have a quarter left...Even though this mask is very expensive, but I think it has helped my hair tremendously.

ESSENCE ABSOLUE NOURISHING PROTECTIVE OIL

I will NEVER go without this hair oil. I have tried numerous hair oil and this is by far the best one in the market. It retails for $68 at Holt Renfrew for a 150ML bottle. Yes, the price hurts my wallet, but this thing is amazing. I apply the oil on wet hair, leave it in for a few min and blow dry as usual. This stuff really makes my hair frizz free and dry-free. I tried using many oil, anti-heat sprays, anything you can find at Sephora or the drug store, but I just always come back to this. I am already on the second bottle of this baby, and I really want to preserve the amount of usage as it is really pricey :(...But it does amazing things to my damaged dry hair.

Cleansing Oil Shampoo
This shampoo is great for those with oily hair. It leaves the hair really bouncy and light, without drying it out. The shampoo claimed to be able to clean off the impurities in the scalp and balance the oil level in the scalp. I agreed with Shu's claim, as it does help leaving the root really radiant and bouncy. I don't think it does an outstanding job at really cleaning out all of the impurities and oil built up, but I do think that it does it's job. I strongly recommend this to those with oily/fine hair. I personally wouldn't repurchase this in a while, because of its price and the needs that my hair require.

Review: Marc Jacob's Perfection Powder Featherweight Foundation

Deng Deng Deng! I placed an order through Sephora.ca about a month ago, as I was very interested in trying Marc Jacob's new makeup line. I pretty much made the order when the line was first launched, so I had no idea which will be hits or misses.  The one product I wanted to try out was the powder foundation - Let's talk about the packaging... Like every other reviewers, Marc Jacob definitely did a great job in designing his products.  He differentiated his products by rounding the 4 edges on the side, while keeping the traditional black sleek case trend.  He also got a little silver push button at the side, which adds a little bit of classiness to the look.  Once the compact is opened, you can see a huge mirror on the lid, and because of this, the weight of the foundation is relatively heavier compared to other compact foundations. Now on to the product - The color I got is 300 Beige (I am normally a shade 30 in Dior/Chanel foundations), which is

ANASTASIA - Lavish Eye Shadow Palette (swatches)

This eye-shadow palette is awesome! It comes with 10 different shades that are mostly warm toned.   I love the staying power of these eye shadows (especially the darker ones).     The palette also comes with  - Dual ended eye shadow brush    (meh) - Twist-up Waterproof eye liner (I love this eyeliner! It's pigmented and last all day. The only problem I have with this is that I see tiny smudges around the lower lash line after a day of wear) - Brow pencil  (hint of brown, but color does not last all day) - Brow tweezers The lighter ones (cream/ballet/orange soda) are very sheer, but the darker colors are very pigmented. Pandora Haul!!!

If you haven't heard of the Pandora 2013 March promotion, then start researching on it! The promotion for this Spring season is to spend over $150CAD and receive a free silver bracelet (value $75). To be completely honest, I was never really a fan of Pandora bracelets. I have always thought their design are dupe-able, same silver quality as any that you can find at a typical jewellery boutique.  But sometimes, peer pressure get to you...(this sounds like an excuse LOL). And the only reason why I caved in to the bandwagon is that I want to own a bracelet, that I can collect special charms that can reflect some memorable time in my life.  Or something that I can find special/relevant to me. One thing people need to keep in mind is that, the pictures in the Pandora website is a bit misleading. The photos of each charms look much bigger and shinier, but in real life, they are much smaller. Another thing to remember is that, the silver do oxidize after you wear for a while.
