Kiehls - Midnight Recovery Concentrate

This product had so much hype when it was first released, and many people seem to enjoy it tremendously.

I have used up 2 bottles of this concentrate, so I wanted to record down my thoughts on it. Maybe it'll help me to refresh my memories later down the road.

Kiehls claims that this product is able to " restores skin’s healthy appearance overnight, resulting in smoother, more radiant complexion by morning". I too, agreed that the oil performs an outstanding job at providing moisturization and radiance to the skin without being too oily.

Texture - Oil
Function - Smooths out skin and pores, while providing radiant glow to the skin
Smell - Subtle and soft (the lavender scent is supposed to make you fall asleep easier, but this never worked on me)
Price - $48 from Kiehls stores

You are suppose to use this concentrate after applying toner and before putting on moisturizer.  Warm up the product between the palm and gently press it on the face.  The heat from the hands allow the oil to absorb better to the skin. All you need is 3-4(max) drops of the concentrate and the key is to not over use it. There were times where I wanted to just use this concentrate alone (due to laziness) and used 5 drops for my entire face. It ended up feeling too greasy and I had to wash it off.

After the oil is applied to the face, let is sit for a while and then put on face cream. I find this very effective in removing the 'oiliness' feeling on the face. The first week after using my first bottle, I noticed a significant change to the look on my face. It really provides a 'glow within' look when you wake up. I didn't find any puffiness or dullness on the skin. However, as good as this product is to giving a smoother canvas to the skin, I don't think it does much in preventing breakouts or reducing the appearance of pores.

As much as I liked the product, I didn't find this product work as well on the second bottle. Maybe my skin has gotten used to the chemicals?

Bottom line, I would recommend this product to those that want to improve the texture of their skin. But I personally wouldn't use it consecutively because your skin might get too comfortable with the oil.

Review: Marc Jacob's Perfection Powder Featherweight Foundation

Deng Deng Deng! I placed an order through Sephora.ca about a month ago, as I was very interested in trying Marc Jacob's new makeup line. I pretty much made the order when the line was first launched, so I had no idea which will be hits or misses.  The one product I wanted to try out was the powder foundation - Let's talk about the packaging... Like every other reviewers, Marc Jacob definitely did a great job in designing his products.  He differentiated his products by rounding the 4 edges on the side, while keeping the traditional black sleek case trend.  He also got a little silver push button at the side, which adds a little bit of classiness to the look.  Once the compact is opened, you can see a huge mirror on the lid, and because of this, the weight of the foundation is relatively heavier compared to other compact foundations. Now on to the product - The color I got is 300 Beige (I am normally a shade 30 in Dior/Chanel foundations), which is

ANASTASIA - Lavish Eye Shadow Palette (swatches)

This eye-shadow palette is awesome! It comes with 10 different shades that are mostly warm toned.   I love the staying power of these eye shadows (especially the darker ones).     The palette also comes with  - Dual ended eye shadow brush    (meh) - Twist-up Waterproof eye liner (I love this eyeliner! It's pigmented and last all day. The only problem I have with this is that I see tiny smudges around the lower lash line after a day of wear) - Brow pencil  (hint of brown, but color does not last all day) - Brow tweezers The lighter ones (cream/ballet/orange soda) are very sheer, but the darker colors are very pigmented. Pandora Haul!!!

If you haven't heard of the Pandora 2013 March promotion, then start researching on it! The promotion for this Spring season is to spend over $150CAD and receive a free silver bracelet (value $75). To be completely honest, I was never really a fan of Pandora bracelets. I have always thought their design are dupe-able, same silver quality as any that you can find at a typical jewellery boutique.  But sometimes, peer pressure get to you...(this sounds like an excuse LOL). And the only reason why I caved in to the bandwagon is that I want to own a bracelet, that I can collect special charms that can reflect some memorable time in my life.  Or something that I can find special/relevant to me. One thing people need to keep in mind is that, the pictures in the Pandora website is a bit misleading. The photos of each charms look much bigger and shinier, but in real life, they are much smaller. Another thing to remember is that, the silver do oxidize after you wear for a while.
