Macaroon Marathon (First Impression)

La Bohème Café Patisserie This is the most expensive macaroons from the ones that I have tried so far. I only tried the salted Caramel, raspberry & white chocolate mocha. The crusts are too loose and it breaks instantly once you try to bite it. I also find these macaroons are too sweet for my liking. The size is relatively big compared to some of the macaroons I see in the market. I also tried their single shot latte. I think its pretty nice, although the expresso is a bit too strong for my liking.  Butter Avenue ~ $2.20ish Pro: - Wide range of selections - Decent taste - Nice and clean atmosphere - Decent price Con: - It's the sweetest out of the 3 - Too far from home/work Overall: - The crust is not too loose nor dense. I personally prefer the crust to be a little bit hard and not just break when you bite it. Their macaroons are creamy/cheesey tasting. It's very easy to get addicted to these little bad boys.  Aside from the sweets, their lat

My 2013 Wishlist (Guilty Pleasure)

Chloe -  MINT GREEN HAND-FINISHED SCALLOPED BALLERINA FLATS I have been eyeing on this ballerina flats for the LONGEST time. This pair of flats are meant to be extremely comfortable for the feet. The lambskin leather is supposed to offer extra soft/buttery sensation to the feet, that are great for walking/standing all day. As obsessed as I am with the flats, I just can't seem to pull myself in buying it. It is is over $455 + tax...   :'( I have seen many versions of this flats from J.Crew, Juicy Couture and no name brands.  Although they are similar in style and cheaper in price, but the quality is still unbeatable compared to the Chloe. Jason Wu - Jourdan Cross Body Bag  Red Valentino Bow Satchel I love this classic Valentino signature bow <3
This is the second visit to a macaroon store in ONE week. Thank god Yoga practice has been helping me to maintain my weight...Else, I don't even know what will happen to my waist line. Mango Cheesecake Rasperry Cheesecake

Dior Lipsticks Swatches

From left to right: Dior Addict Lipsticks - 422 Tokyo Dior Addict Lipsticks - 778 Show  Dior Addict Highshine  454 Rose Show I'm not really a lipstick girl...But I seem to have an addiction to collect lipsticks... The Dior addict line of lipsticks have a pretty nice range of colors. They tend to have a more sheer and glossy finish. I have had the Highshine 454 for almost 2 years...and never really like it until recently. Surprisingly, I like this better than the Addict lipsticks.  It offers a really nudey/soft/glossy finish to the lips, and its perfect for day time wear. The lasting power of these lipsticks are quite short...So constant reapplying the lipstick might be required if you want to keep the same color as you initially applied.   I find these lipsticks only wear well when the lips are nicely moisturized. They tend to accentuate the lines between the lips and make the lips peel abit. I also have a small problem with getting some of the lipsticks on the fr

Kiehls - Midnight Recovery Concentrate

This product had so much hype when it was first released, and many people seem to enjoy it tremendously.  I have used up 2 bottles of this concentrate, so I wanted to record down my thoughts on it. Maybe it'll help me to refresh my memories later down the road.   Kiehls claims that this product is able to "   restores skin’s healthy appearance overnight, resulting in smoother, more radiant complexion by morning ". I too, agreed that the oil performs an outstanding job at providing moisturization and radiance to the skin without being too oily. Texture - Oil Function - Smooths out skin and pores, while providing radiant glow to the skin Smell - Subtle and soft (the lavender scent is supposed to make you fall asleep easier, but this never worked on me) Price - $48 from Kiehls stores You are suppose to use this concentrate after applying toner and before putting on moisturizer.  Warm up the product between the palm and gently press it on the face.  The h

The battle of Toners (Dior, Lancome, Benefit)

Toners, toners, toners....do they actually make a difference to our skin?...There are so many kinds of toners out in the market, for most people, it's hard to find their holy grail toner that actually work. Dior Lotion Purifying Tonic - Sephora/The Bay  This is such an IMPULSE buy, but i'm so glad that I tried it out. The texture of the toner is very liquidity/watery. The smell is clean, but you can definitely smell the alcohol in it. It mattifies the skin and does a fantastic job at cleaning up any left over makeup that I might have missed after washing the face. This is a nice product for those with combination to oily skin. It still keeps the skin some what moisturized, without giving a squeaky clean feeling. I wouldn't say this toner is a must have, or you'll need to go out and buy it right way. I probably won't repurchase it any time soon due to the steep price point. But overall, this is a really nice toner. Better than Laneige's toner for por

Pandora Haul!!!

If you haven't heard of the Pandora 2013 March promotion, then start researching on it! The promotion for this Spring season is to spend over $150CAD and receive a free silver bracelet (value $75). To be completely honest, I was never really a fan of Pandora bracelets. I have always thought their design are dupe-able, same silver quality as any that you can find at a typical jewellery boutique.  But sometimes, peer pressure get to you...(this sounds like an excuse LOL). And the only reason why I caved in to the bandwagon is that I want to own a bracelet, that I can collect special charms that can reflect some memorable time in my life.  Or something that I can find special/relevant to me. One thing people need to keep in mind is that, the pictures in the Pandora website is a bit misleading. The photos of each charms look much bigger and shinier, but in real life, they are much smaller. Another thing to remember is that, the silver do oxidize after you wear for a while.

New HG Fragrance - Jo Malone Spring 2013 Limited Edition

Sometimes you just know what is the right scent for you, when you can't stop sniffing it. After owning so many bottles of designer fragrances, I have came to realized, that this limited Jo Malone perfume is the only perfume that I actually bought a backup after 1 week of using it. That is how much I love this stuff... This particular scent that I fell in love is Elderflower & Gooseberry Cologne, with a sweet yet subtle scent that is not overwhelming. One thing I noticed about this fragrance is that it wears differently on everybody. It smells so warm, girly, sweet and feminine. However, on some of my friends, it smelled fresh and clean. This is a MUST HAVE!
