Lessons I learned in my late 20s

Twenty Something... 1. You can't change others, but you can change yourself. 2. Take risks - Sometimes, you just never know what life takes you. So,  I try to tell myself to try on new things, take new risks and after all, I am gaining life experiences along the way. 3. Be respectful and thankful - we are lucky to have what we have in life 4. Acknowledge your regrets -  Why wouldn't we have regrets? Sometimes in life, reality forces us to make decisions, but some decisions are made not because of what we wanted, but what was considered necessary at that moment. Why do millions of people live with regrets even to the end of their lives?  5. Have a regular fitness routine - Muscle body connection (can't forget that) 6. Give time to yourself and learn who you are - We often get so overwhemled with life, that we forgot about our inner soul. Who am I? What are my purposes? Who do I want to become? 7. Learn how to enjoy the present moments  8. Save $$ ea

Viseart Eye Shadow Palette - Worth the Hype?

VISEART Eyeshadow Palette - 04 Dark Mattes Available on Sephora Online, retailed at $100CAD + tax Finish: Matte Consistency: dry texture, not creamy, but offers good amount of pigmentation  Longevity: > 10 hours Tone: neutral; warm undertone To start off, this is definitely the most expensive single makeup item in my collection. This palette retails at $100CAD, which includes 12 matte; dark warm tone shades.  The top 2 rows are my most used eye shadows, my most favourite ones include the brown, burgundy and plum colours.  The two lighter and darker brown shades are excellent for blending or use it as transition colours. Typically, I like to use these shadows as a base, and then apply any shimmery shadows on the ball of the eye lids ; then blend out the rest of the eye look with the darker shadows as desired.  Overall, this palette is very versatile and you can definitely create different looks with it.  But the moment of truth... Is this palette

Current Favorites - Drugstore and Highend crossovers

L ately , I've discovered the beauty of going minimalistic. It's time effective and also cost effective.  Top: NYX Micro Brow Pencil (Chocolate)  This is a no fuss, simple and long lasting brow pencil for those who wants something to just fill in their brows.  There is no complaint about this product, other than the price point still being a little bit expensive for a drug store product.  Revlon Colorstay Eye Liner Pencil (Brown) I have been a big fan of the Marc Jacob Highliner Gel Eye Crayon for many years. The pigmentation and longevity of the product is just on point. However, $C31 an eyeliner pencil is just not justifiable for the long term. I have discovered an alternative to the Marc Jacob pencil, which is the Revlon Colorstay eye liner. Although this is not a gel based eye liner, which means the consistency is much more stiff and not as easy to blend. But the lasting power is excellent. It lasts through tears, water and oily lids. I highly recommend this p

ANASTASIA - Lavish Eye Shadow Palette (swatches)

This eye-shadow palette is awesome! It comes with 10 different shades that are mostly warm toned.   I love the staying power of these eye shadows (especially the darker ones).     The palette also comes with  - Dual ended eye shadow brush    (meh) - Twist-up Waterproof eye liner (I love this eyeliner! It's pigmented and last all day. The only problem I have with this is that I see tiny smudges around the lower lash line after a day of wear) - Brow pencil  (hint of brown, but color does not last all day) - Brow tweezers The lighter ones (cream/ballet/orange soda) are very sheer, but the darker colors are very pigmented. Review: Marc Jacob's Perfection Powder Featherweight Foundation

Deng Deng Deng! I placed an order through Sephora.ca about a month ago, as I was very interested in trying Marc Jacob's new makeup line. I pretty much made the order when the line was first launched, so I had no idea which will be hits or misses.  The one product I wanted to try out was the powder foundation - Let's talk about the packaging... Like every other reviewers, Marc Jacob definitely did a great job in designing his products.  He differentiated his products by rounding the 4 edges on the side, while keeping the traditional black sleek case trend.  He also got a little silver push button at the side, which adds a little bit of classiness to the look.  Once the compact is opened, you can see a huge mirror on the lid, and because of this, the weight of the foundation is relatively heavier compared to other compact foundations. Now on to the product - The color I got is 300 Beige (I am normally a shade 30 in Dior/Chanel foundations), which is

Makeup empties/expired II

I know it's crazy...but these are how much makeup I threw out over the weekend...I know the title of this post is a bit misleading. As you can clearly see, most of them are not used up.  They've been there in my stash for way long and some of them are samples that I have never even touched. My goal for the rest of the year is to go on a makeup buying ban. (unless I run out of something I use everyday). :P

Hot Pink Rose Vibrant Overall, I think the color payoff for these lipsticks + lip glosses are very pigmented. But I find that the lip butters are quite drying after 30min or so. I can see my lips start to dry up alot more if I wear these lip butters on a daily basis.  The lip glosses are very opaque and the colors are really pretty, however, it doesn't last long on the li
